Experience the 2024 Solar Eclipse

On April 8th, 2024, Muncie and Delaware County will experience an event that will only occur once in a lifetime, a total solar eclipse. On this day of black sun, the moon’s shadow will be cast on the earth in a clear path. Muncie is in that shadow’s way, in a zone referred to as “totality.” Muncie and Delaware County will go dark in the middle of broad daylight. We are planning the weekend leading up to the Monday Eclipse that both young and old can experience the magic in Muncie.

The City of Muncie, the Muncie Visitor’s BureauAcademy of Model AeronauticsDWNTWN MuncieMuncie Public Library, and several other local businesses, including our friends at the Charles W. Brown Planetarium, are all looking forward to this time with us. As your host, we welcome all those who want to witness the eclipse at one of our prime viewing locations in Muncie & Delaware County.

For all you Delaware County natives and those planning to travel here, we invite you to join us for a great family weekend full of intrigue, excitement, good local food, and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

As further details develop, we will share where to stay, the viewing areas, volunteer opportunities, transportation, where to shop, and the eyewear required to enjoy the solar eclipse safely.

Please check back soon we don’t want you to miss out on this historic day of total totality! Check out our socials as well, that’s @MuncieSolarEclipse2024 on Instagram and @Magic in Muncie on Facebook.
